The warm peach-yellow colour of this sapphire is one that features so beautifully in Amrita Sher-Gil’s sensitive paintings. Depicting herself and other women on dark emerald, grey and teal backgrounds, it is the flashes of brown and peach that illuminate the skin and bring her work to life.
