Rachel Boston is looking for a creative, motivated and independent Content Creator & Social Media Manager with a sharp visual eye to join our team on Redchurch Street, Shoreditch.In this role, you’ll be responsible for shaping our digital presence through creative content that’s interesting, fun and informative, whilst striking a sophisticated balance between relevant online trends and original, brand-led content. Alongside content creation, you’ll manage the content calendar across our social platforms, ensuring our presence remains consistent in both posting frequency and tone of voice, primarily across Instagram and TikTok.Although you’ll report directly to founder Rachel, we’re looking for someone who can understand and interpret the Rachel Boston vision and translate it into content with minimal guidance. You’ll have the confidence to take ownership of the brand’s social presence, whilst knowing when to bring ideas and decisions to Rachel. A strong understanding of refined jewellery language is desirable, but can be taught.
The days can be chosen at your discretion, but will ideally remain the same once chosen.This is a four days per week position in-office.
—The role is split into two responsibilities:
Content Creator:
- Conceptualise, plan and film and edit reels/TikToks and other mobile social content (2-4 reels a week)
- Find appropriate music to use with reels/TikToks
- Daily IG stories showing quick product images/videos with links to product pages
- Keep an eye on relevant editing styles/formats that could work for the RB brand without feeling overly trend-led
Social Media Manager:
- Planning, scheduling and posting all social media for the Rachel Boston Instagram (via. Planoly) and TikTok accounts. We aim to post on both Instagram and TikTok feeds 6 times a week.
- Writing captions for each post that is in line with the Rachel Boston tone of voice, typically including informed knowledge of the stones and metals of each piece featured
- Keeping up to date with new Instagram/TikTok features and strategising ways to use these relevantly
- Monitor social performance and use insights to inform future content
- Track growth, engagement and content performance
- Identify which content formats/topics/products perform best
- Monitoring and responding to comments, and knowing when something needs to be passed to Rachel/the wider team
- Develop and evolve the social strategy alongside the brand
Skills & ExperienceRequired:
- A minimum of 3 years’ experience working in social media, content creation, photography, videography or a similar field
- Proficient in social-first video editing software, ideally CapCut
- A strong understanding of Instagram and TikTok, including current formats, features and best practices
- A sharp eye for composition and visual aesthetics, with an instinct for keeping imagery and content fresh and interesting
- Excellent written skills, with the ability to adapt copy to the Rachel Boston tone of voice
- Highly organised, with the ability to manage a content calendar and consistently work to deadlines
- Confident working independently, taking content from initial concept through to filming, editing and publication
- Proactive and naturally curious, with an instinct for identifying relevant trends, content opportunities and new ways to present the brand
- An understanding of social media analytics and the ability to use performance insights to inform future content
- Excellent attention to detail, particularly when working with product information and jewellery terminology
Desirable:
- Experience or working knowledge in fine jewellery
- Professional photography skills
- Experience creating content for a luxury, fashion, jewellery or other visually-led brand
- Comfortable filming content on your own hands, ears, wrists and neckline
- Experience using social media scheduling and planning platforms such as Planoly
