Lifetime Care

At Rachel Boston we believe exceptional jewellery should be worn and enjoyed every day, not kept for special occasions. Every piece is thoughtfully designed and handcrafted to become a modern heirloom, made to be treasured for generations.

To help keep your jewellery looking and performing at its best, we offer ongoing aftercare, expert advice and a Two Year Manufacturer's Warranty against manufacturing defects.

If you ever have any questions about your jewellery or believe something isn't quite right, our team will always be happy to help.

Two-Year Manufacturer's Warranty

Our jewellery is handcrafted with the utmost care and expertise, and we warrant that all Rachel Boston jewellery purchased directly from us will be free from manufacturing defects for two years from the date you receive your piece.

If you believe your jewellery has developed a manufacturing defect, please stop wearing it and contact us as soon as possible so that we can arrange an inspection.

If, following inspection, the issue is confirmed to be the result of a manufacturing defect, we will repair or replace the item, where appropriate, at no cost to you. Please note that, due to the natural characteristics of the precious metals and gemstones we use, we cannot always guarantee an exact match if a component or the entire piece needs to be replaced. However, we will always endeavour to match the original as closely as possible.

Our Two Year Manufacturer's Warranty covers manufacturing defects only and does not extend to normal wear and tear resulting from everyday use. Please refer to the Warranty Conditions & Exclusions below for full details. If, after inspection, the damage is found not to be the result of a manufacturing defect, we will contact you to discuss the available repair options, together with any associated costs.

To ensure the integrity of your jewellery, all repairs, resizing and other alterations should be carried out by Rachel Boston. Any work undertaken by another jeweller without our prior consultation and written agreement may void your Manufacturer's Warranty.

As every Rachel Boston piece is handcrafted using natural materials, slight variations in gemstone characteristics, colour and finish are entirely normal and form part of the individuality of your jewellery. Very slight variations in craftsmanship may also occur as each piece is made by hand. These natural characteristics should not be considered manufacturing defects.

Complimentary Lifetime Check-Ups

We are always delighted to welcome Rachel Boston jewellery back to our showroom.

To help your jewellery remain in excellent condition, we offer complimentary inspections and cleaning throughout the lifetime of your piece.

During your appointment, we will carefully examine your jewellery to check:

- gemstone security
- claws and settings
- clasps and fastenings
- general wear
- overall condition

Regular inspections allow us to identify any routine maintenance before it develops into a more significant repair.

We generally recommend booking your jewellery in once a year for inspection, with professional polishing carried out every few years where appropriate. Excessive polishing over many years can gradually remove precious metal, so we only recommend polishing when genuinely beneficial.

Should we identify any maintenance or repair work that is required, we will always discuss the available options, costs and expected timescales with you before proceeding.

Our complimentary inspection and cleaning service is available by appointment at our London showroom.

If you are based outside the UK, please contact us at info@rachelboston.co.uk and we will be happy to discuss the available options.

Warranty Conditions & Exclusions

The Manufacturer's Warranty and complimentary maintenance services described above apply only to jewellery purchased directly from Rachel Boston. If your piece was purchased as a gift, or if you have any questions regarding warranty eligibility, please contact our team and we will be happy to advise.

To ensure the integrity of your jewellery, all repairs, resizing and alterations should be carried out by Rachel Boston. Any work undertaken by another jeweller without our prior consultation and written agreement may void your Manufacturer's Warranty where that work has contributed to subsequent damage or defects.

Our Manufacturer's Warranty covers manufacturing defects only. It does not cover damage or loss resulting from normal wear and tear, accidental damage, misuse, improper care or failure to maintain your jewellery appropriately.

Examples of damage not covered by our warranty include:

- Scratches, surface marks, nicks and dents that occur through everyday wear.
- Damage caused by impact, excessive force or accidental knocks.
- Damage resulting from improper wear, care or storage, including where this has led to the loss of a gemstone.
- Continuing to wear jewellery with bent, worn or damaged claws or settings, increasing the risk of gemstone loss. Claws naturally wear over time and may require routine restoration as part of normal maintenance.
- Chipped, cracked or broken gemstones, or gemstones lost as a result of impact, accidental damage or continued wear after a setting has become damaged.
- Warping or distortion of a ring, setting or mount caused by impact or excessive force.
- Discolouration caused by exposure to chemicals, including household cleaning products, cosmetics, chlorine and other corrosive substances.

Our warranty does not cover the replacement of lost centre stones.

As our warranty does not cover normal wear and tear, accidental damage, loss, theft or the loss of gemstones resulting from circumstances outside of a manufacturing defect, we strongly recommend arranging specialist jewellery insurance for your piece.

Nothing within this warranty affects your statutory rights.

Insuring Your Jewellery

As fine jewellery is designed to be worn and enjoyed every day, we strongly recommend arranging specialist jewellery insurance from the day you receive your piece. While our Manufacturer's Warranty covers manufacturing defects, it does not cover accidental damage, normal wear and tear, loss, theft or the loss of gemstones resulting from circumstances outside of a manufacturing defect.

Many of our clients choose to insure their jewellery through a specialist jewellery insurer, while others add their pieces to an existing home contents policy. If you choose the latter, we recommend checking that your jewellery is covered both inside and outside your home, as well as whilst travelling internationally. It is your responsibility to ensure that your chosen policy provides adequate cover for the value and intended use of your jewellery.

We are happy to provide an insurance valuation for your Rachel Boston jewellery upon request. To arrange a valuation, please email info@rachelboston.co.uk.

If you would like recommendations for specialist jewellery insurance providers, we would be delighted to assist.
