WHAT IS AN ANTIQUE DIAMOND?
Any diamonds mined and cut between the 1300s and 1930s are considered antique. This makes them between 90 and 700 years old - that's a whole lot of history to have in one beautiful diamond.

WHAT DO THEY LOOK LIKE?
Antique cut diamonds have a soft, romantic appearance when compared to modern cut diamonds. This is because they have been cut my hand, and not by machine as modern diamonds are, making each one totally unique.

For anyone looking to give a modern design a vintage twist, antique diamonds work perfectly. Cut by hand, their charm and rich history make them a beautiful choice.
Environmentally, a diamond that has already been mined will have a significantly lower environmental impact. Making the choice to repurpose an existing diamond is an excellent one for those inspired by environmental and social factors.

WHAT COLOUR DIAMOND SHOULD I EXPECT?
Many antique diamonds fall under the J, K, L and M colour grades, which means they have a slightly yellow tint to them. This is because most of the rough diamonds coming out of mines in these times were warmer in colour. Antique diamonds tend to look best when set in 18ct Yellow Gold rings as they make the colouring less noticeable.
